A report on the Industrial Conclave for Engineering Physics
The main objective of conducting the Industrial Conclave was to discuss about the existing syllabus for UG Engineering Physics theory and Electives for higher semester and to take suggestions from industry expert in the concerned field. The Conclave was held on 7th March 2020 at 10 AM in the Physics department, DSCE in the presence of B. Satyaprasad, Executive Director, AP Solar Solutions, Bangalore as the industrial expert along with our senior faculty. His focus is on product design and development and system certifications of Solar Photovoltaic installations.
Syllabus and Scheme were presented by Dr. C. M. Joseph in detail in the Conclave and suggestions were noted and to be incorporated in the syllabus for 2020-21 batch. The suggestions were discussed with core branches to modify the syllabus accordingly as per their requirement. Syllabus was modified for more application oriented instead of conventional basic Physics in the meeting so as to be useful for the students in the higher semester. Suggestions included introducing water conditioning using nano technology to be included in the VII semester Elective course Nano Science and Technology and also as a self study component for I/II semesters in the Engineering Physics course. The three different processes (Chemical, Mechanical and Electronic processes) in water conditioning to be included as a self study component VII semester Elective course Nano Science and Technology. Suggestions by the board members were proposed to be incorporated in the syllabus for BOS approval.
Highlights
- Suggestions included introducing water conditioning (as pure drinking water is need of the hour) using nano technology in the VII semester Elective course Nano Science and Technology and also as a self study component for I/II semesters in the Engineering Physics course.
- The three different processes (Chemical, Mechanical and Electronic processes) in water conditioning to be included as self study component for VII semester elective course Nano Science and Technology.
