Aventus 3.0 – National Level Hackathon

The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning organized Aventus 3.0, a 24-hour national-level mega hackathon held at Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering in June 2025, aimed at fostering innovation, creativity, and real-world problem-solving skills among students. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation with 60 top teams shortlisted from over 3,789 national registrations, highlighting its national prominence. Aventus 3.0 was conducted in collaboration with the ACM Student Chapter and the Institution’s Innovation Council, with sponsorship support from Techmiya Solutions, Sagar Hospitals and DERBI. Participants developed innovative AI-driven solutions across key domains including Healthcare, Cybersecurity, Edge Computing, and Disaster Management, demonstrating technical excellence, collaborative teamwork, and entrepreneurial acumen.

Engineering Conclave 2025

The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning organized Engineering Conclave 2025 in June 2025, with Dr. Pethur Raj, an Edge AI expert from Jio Platforms Ltd, as the resource person. The conclave focused on emerging AI trends in modern computing, Edge AI, decentralized architectures, and sustainable technological practices, while emphasizing strong industry–academia collaboration. The deliberations contributed valuable insights for curriculum design aligned with industry requirements, supporting the department’s efforts to keep academic programs in parity with current and future industry expectations.

International Symposium 2025

The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning organized a One-Day International Symposium on “Cross Domain AI Applications and Impact” in July 2025, bringing together experts from across the world representing academia, research, and industry. The symposium, conducted as a funded pre-summit event for the IndiaAI Summit, focused on bridging research and practice while exploring AI applications across healthcare, engineering, and societal domains. The event fostered interdisciplinary collaboration, meaningful knowledge exchange, and innovative discussions, strengthening global connections between researchers and practitioners while contributing to the growth of India’s evolving AI ecosystem.

ATL Linkage Program

The Institution’s Innovation Council (DSCE-IIC), in collaboration with the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, conducted an ATL Linkage Program from September 2025, focusing on training and bootcamps for budding entrepreneurs across three schools—Shri Shri Ravishankar Vidya Mandir, Oxford Senior Secondary School, and Government High School Bashettihalli. As a Government of India–supported MIC activity, the initiative aligned with the national objective of HEIs mentoring school students at an early age to promote technology-driven learning and innovation. Led by the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, the program delivered structured mentoring through training sessions, bootcamps, ideathons, exposure visits, and project demonstrations, nurturing problem-solving abilities, entrepreneurial mindset, and technical awareness among school students while strengthening the school-level innovation ecosystem.

ISRO Industrial Visit

Third-semester students visited ISRO Bengaluru to learn about satellite development, launch vehicles, and India’s major space missions. The visit provided valuable exposure to space research, advanced technology, and innovation, allowing students to understand real-world applications beyond the classroom. The experience inspired participants to explore career opportunities in aerospace and emerging technology domains while strengthening their technical curiosity and industry awareness.

The LLM Revolution – Engineering Intelligence

A poster presentation on Large Language Models (LLMs) titled “The LLM Revolution: Discover How Intelligence Is Engineered” was conducted in November 2025, providing students with an exploratory platform to study and present on various LLMs and Agentic AI frameworks. Through poster-based discussions, students examined key concepts such as model architectures, tokenization, transformer-based learning, real-world applications including chatbots and intelligent assistants, and the importance of responsible AI practices. The event encouraged interactive peer learning and critical thinking, inspiring students to explore emerging AI research areas and gain a deeper understanding of cutting-edge technologies shaping the future of artificial intelligence.

Full Stack Development Student Development Program

A five-day Student Development Program on Full Stack Development was conducted in October 2025 at Jain Institute of Technology in collaboration with IT industry partners. Student mentors from the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning delivered hands-on technical training to over 250 participants from the ISE and CSE departments, emphasizing practical skill development, peer-led learning, and experiential education. The program strengthened interdisciplinary collaboration and promoted knowledge sharing across institutions through real-world, industry-relevant training.
