Sanchar Mitra Scheme – Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Government of India Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering (DSCE) is proud to be associated with the Sanchar Mitra Scheme, an initiative of the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Government of India (GOI), aimed at creating a digitally aware and cyber-secure society. The scheme empowers student volunteers, designated as Sanchar Mitras, to serve as ambassadors of digital and telecom awareness by educating citizens on safe digital practices, cyber fraud prevention, responsible use of telecommunication services, and various citizen-centric initiatives of DoT. At DSCE, Dr. Pushpa B. R., Assistant Professor, Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering (ETE), serves as the Nodal Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for the Sanchar Mitra Scheme. Under her guidance, a dedicated team of five student volunteers from the Department of ETE—Naman Singh, Shefali Badgi, Sai Nethra N. U., Sai Ram, and Priti Prasad—actively serve as Sanchar Mitras. The team regularly conducts awareness programmes, workshops, interactive sessions, and outreach activities both within the college and in the community, promoting digital safety, cyber hygiene, telecom literacy, and responsible digital citizenship. Through these initiatives, the Sanchar Mitras strive to bridge the digital awareness gap and contribute to the vision of a secure, informed, and digitally empowered India.
