Alumni Details
One of the main strengths of the department of Biotechnology is the excellent fraternity of Alumni.
Our alumni always extend their full support and cooperation to any kind of departmental activities by their regular interaction through E- mails and telephonic conversations. The department has a vibrant alumni network in social media such as Face book (https://www.facebook.com/groups/dscebiotech/), through which the alumni are sharing their views.
The department has an Alumni Coordinator who always keeps in touch with each alumnus and gathers their feedback and inputs. The alumni exchange their ideas and innovative thoughts to enrich the existing curriculum and various departmental activities.
The alumni regularly share their experiences about their higher studies and industrial sectors. They provide suggestions and supports to their juniors in guiding them further to pursue their career in Biotechnology and allied disciplines. They also assist them in short term training programs, internship and other innovative academic programs. Recently, we conducted an alumni survey with regards to the curriculum enrichment in which 75 % of our alumni shared their valuable feedback. The department forever looks forward to get their precious suggestions and inputs.
Some of the key highlights about our alumni are:
- Our alumni are pursuing higher studies in various reputed institutions in India such IISc, IIT, NIT etc. and premier foreign Universities across the world.
- Our alumni are working in popular Biotechnology industries and R &D institutes in India and Abroad.
- Our alumni are working in premier IT sectors such as Infosys, HCL, IBM, Wipro, Cognizant etc.

Minutes of the meeting: Alumni expressed their satisfaction on department progress. Suggestions emphasized on soft skills, laboratory skills, problem based learning and clinical research.
MEGA ALUMNI MEET-2019:
Date: 28th December 2019
The MEGA ALUMNI MEET-2019 of DayanandaSagar College of Engineering, Bengaluru, was organized on 28th December 2019, Saturday from 10.00 am -2.00 pm at Dr. Premachandra Sagar Auditorium, Dayananda Sagar Institutions. 20 alumni from various batches (2010-2018) of Department of Biotechnology were actively participated and shared their feedback and thoughts on the curricular aspects on outcome based education and how to improve the teaching-learning process.
Dr. S. Kiran (Professor & Head) and Dr. N. Rajeswari (Associate Professor) were coordinated the program. Mrs. Manasa V (Assistant Professor) Mrs Banurevathi (Assistant Professor) and Mr. Shashank Tidke (Research scholar) were also actively participated in MEGA alumni meet 2019.
DSCE Mega Alumni Meet-2018: Participation of Biotech Alumni
Date: 29th December 2018
The mega alumni meet (2018) of Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering, Bengaluru, was organized on 29th December 2018, Saturday from 10.00 am -2.00 pm at Dr. Premachandra Sagar Auditorium, Dayananda Sagar Institutions. Thirty alumni from various batches (2010-2018 passed out) of Department of Biotechnology were actively participated in the program and shared their feedback and thoughts on the curricular aspects on outcome based education and how to improve the teaching-learning process as one of the stakeholders.
Dr. S. Kiran (Professor & Head), Dr. N. Rajeswari (Associate Professor) and Department alumni coordinator Dr. Sinosh Skariyachan (Associate Professor) were coordinated the program. Mrs. Bhanu Ravathi K (Assistant Professor), Dr. Kumar KM (Assistant Professor) and Dr. Govindappa M (Associate Professor) and Mr. Shashank Tidke (Research scholar) were also actively participated in the program.

Departmental Alumni Meet
Date: 16th September 2017
An alumni meeting was conducted on 16 September 2017 at the Department of Biotechnology, CD Sagar Centre for Life Sciences, DSCE. The main agenda of the meeting was the interaction with Alumni to highlight their roles and responsibilities as the stakeholders in outcome based education and seek their suggestions and feedback for the enrichment of the program. Dr. Sinosh Skariyachan, Associate Professor, Alumni Coordinator, Department of Biotechnology welcomed the gathering. Dr. S. Kiran, Professor & Head, Department of Biotechnology had briefed about the recent aspects of outcome based education, NBA inspection and roles and responsibilities of each alumnus as stakeholders in the program. The alumni has actively participated in the discussion and shared their views and interacted with the faculty members.
