The Department of MCA provides believes in creating a “want to learn” culture through state of the art infrastructure. We offer the most effective teaching learning methodologies through class room and practical exercises to cultivate an inquisitive mind-set among students. We aim to be the first choice in the state/country among aspiring computer science graduates. The skills and education imparted enables students to utilize new technologies and prepare them for key technology application and decision-making. The learning experience is wholesome, tailored to suit the needs of the industry and individual career development.

We are dedicated and committed to university education, with equal emphasis on high quality research and teaching in computer science and information systems. We follow the philosophy to strive and offer a customized, flexible, challenging, and rewarding Post Graduate program covering the essentials of contemporary Computer Applications. Our faculty's progressive research and dedicated teaching efforts have helped in establishing a strong platform for technological studies. Our experienced professors are hands-on educators in the classroom, in the lab, working directly with students.

Our curriculum has a special emphasis on Outcome Based Education (OBE) and Experiential Learning. The academic activities concentrate on helping the students to gain an excellent theoretical knowledge base and in the development of skills to implement them. We work towards improving students’ thinking skills, analytical frameworks, entrepreneurial skills, interpersonal and communication skills. Year on year our results statistics show an improvement graph which adds a feather of success to our cap.

The Autonomous status accorded by VTU provides us an opportunity to fine tune the syllabus and train the students to be industry ready. Under the autonomous stream, students can learn and specialize in various domains such as Programming, Computation, Software Engineering, Computer Networks, Database Management and Web Technology streams. Industry requirement for skilled graduates is catered through courses like Python, Advanced DBMS, Internet of Things, Mobile Application Development, Software Testing, Data Analytics, Cloud Computing, to name a few. Apart from the regular curriculum, students are encouraged to take up certification courses both online and offline.

We have a well established Research & Development Laboratory affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University with research scholars from both the industry and academia that are carrying out their research to earn their PhD degree. We give high impetus for research with a focus on interdisciplinary fields of study.

Learning is a continuous process and in pursuit of which our department has made deep forays into contributing world renowned technocrats, successful entrepreneurs, competent leaders, innovative scientists and researchers. We have established strong Industry links and companies have signed MOUs to engage in developmental activities with the college .Guest lectures from industry experts is a common activity in the department enabling the students to freely interact and learn about the trends in technology. Frequent industry visits are organized to groom students and prepare them for industry practices, culture and ethos. Also, our Alumni have maintained a strong bonding with the Alma Mater by taking up an initiative to mentor the students towards fruitful placements.

We are proud to share that our students gain a holistic development since they have been successful in showcasing their talents in curricular and co-curricular activities. They have won trophies in various inter-collegiate activities in technical and cultural events. The faculty and students work towards helping the underprivileged through many social responsibility activities like Application development for societal benefit, blood donation, supporting orphanages, etc.

The academic excellence of our students is reflected in their exemplary record in placements in the corporate and engineering sectors. The companies like Cerner, Accenture, Infosys, Cognizant, HCL, L&T, SAP, etc have been successful in their recruitment process and hired majority of our students for both internships and jobs.
