IEEE R10 Hackathon

IEEE EMBS in collaboration with Dayananada Sagar College of Engineering, conducted a three- day an IEEE R10 Hackathon “Samanvaya : Affordable Medical Device Development” from 8 th to 10 th Nov 2024 at the CD Sagar auditorium,DSCE. This three-day event invited participants to innovate, collaborate, and develop solutions aimed at creating accessible and affordable medical devices.

Congratuation! It is a pleasure to inform you that the requirements of the Member and Geographic Activities Board Operations Manual have been met and the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society Student Branch Chapter at the Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering has been formed. The effective data of this Student Branch Chapter formation is November 6, 2018.

Data Structures: Conceptualize and Code

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering at Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering organized an event titled "Data Structures: Conceptualize and Code" on October 16, 2024. The event is aimed at improving students' understanding and practical knowledge of data structures, was held between 9:30 AM and 12:30 PM. The primary goal was to provide hands-on coding experience, along with preparation for technical interviews through a mock session with industry experts.

Ideathon – 24

TiE Global Summit 2024 places "Entrepreneurship First" at the heart of global growth and social progress, championing efforts to make entrepreneurship more accessible while inspiring the next wave of innovators. The summit brings together leaders, entrepreneurs, investors, and students to spark collaboration and drive cutting-edge ideas.

Orientation Program – Proofile.in

The department of CSE in association with Proofile.in launched the “Project Internship Program” exclusively for Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) students on 30th of August 2024. The program witnessed the gracious presence of Mr. Venkatesh S.V, the founder of Proofile.in, Mr. Naveen Chander, Head of Corporate & Academic Partnership at Proofile along with Dr. Ramesh Babu D R, Vice Principal and HoD, Dept. of CSE.

Blockchain and Web3

This workshop was organized to introduce 3rd- semester students to emerging technologies in blockchain and data querying. The focus was on providing practical insights into tools used in decentralized applications and modern data retrieval mechanisms.

Recurzive: Hack In-Finite Time

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering successfully organized a 24-hour national level hackathon Recurzive, fostering creativity, collaboration and innovation among participants. The event provided a platform for students to showcase their technical prowess and problem-solving skills in a high-energy environment.

Exploring Future Opportunuties and Career Paths

Gate Academy is an esteemed institution known for propelling students into higher studies in India and abroad as well. Collaborating with the Department of Computer Science and Engineering in Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering, their reputed speakers indulged in speaking with the students from the 5th semester.

Hack4Hearts Hackathon

A hackathon, called Hack4Hearts, was organized jointly by the CSE, MD and ECE Dept at Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering Bengaluru, in association with Jayadeva Institute and DERBI Foundation. It was a 24 hour hackathon held from 07 June 2024 to 08 June 2024.

Skill Development Program on AWS

Coding Bootcamp

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering, Bengaluru conducted boot camp for 5th semester students on 10th of January 2024. Respected Head of the Department Dr. Ramesh Babu D R inaugurated the event. All the 5th semester handling faculties were present for the event.

MoU

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at DSCE and Nokia was initially established in the year 2017. The MoU aimed to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing between the two entities, with a focus on providing partial delivery of classes to the students.

Data Hack

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering organized Quiz contest named ”DATA HACK” for the students of 1st & 2nd year on 11th Feb. It was conducted offline in the CSE Department room no 301. The contest was hosted by Prof. Shahedhadeennisa S, Prof. Chaitra SP and Prof. Kavyashree KR and student coordinators Sanjal S Eralil and Abbas Hozefa.

Web Wizards

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering organized a Website Designing Competition “Web Wizards” Event 2023 for all 1st year students on 8th Feb 2023. The contest was held in CSE 403 lab. There were 35 participants. Students were very enthusiastic and they participated actively in the contest. The time allotted for the contest was 120mins.

Code Blaze

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering organized a Coding competition “Code Blaze” Event 2023 for all 1st year students on 3rd Feb 2023. The contest was held in CSE 301, 302, 303 labs. There were 100 participants. Students were very enthusiastic and they participated actively in the contest.

MoU Signed with the Clue4Evidence Lab

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering has signed an MoU with the Digital Forensic Laboratory at Bangalore named “Clue4Evidence Lab”. Mr.Phaneendar B N, a Court Commissioned Forensic Expert is the Chairman and Managing Trustee for Clue4 Evidence Foundation. We had a fruitful MoU signed and the points are very clearly mentioned about how students and faculties will be benefitted out of this collaboration. Our HOD and other professors of computer science department has led this MoU signing and please find below the glimpses of the event.

Code Luminate

Codeluminate is the programming contest to showcase the coding skills possessed by students and surely help them practice for future coding rounds and DSA based problem solving for their placements.

Super 30 Event

The event was conducted on 19/1/23 at lab 201, new block, Dept. of CSE, DSCE. All the students were asked to give the elevator pitch of 3 minutes where they introduced and spoke about their interests and knowledge of various technical domains.

The hackathon had an open theme, allowing students to choose their area of interest and work on a project related to that area.

Super-30

The Super 30 initiative is started to encourage students who desire to get into Tier-1 companies(Facebook, Tesla, LinledIn, Google etc). To accomplish the same, the students were asked to respond for the google form which collected responses that included fields like average CGPA score, count of coding contests attended, their details and number of contests won.

International Alumni Chapter Flagship Program 2022-23

Associations offer networking opportunities which can connect recent graduates with established professionals and help pursue career changes. In order to realise the same, Department of Computer Science and Engineering organized an online International Alumni Chapter Flagship Program 2022-23.

Deep Learning Models for Cyber Attack Detection

Department of Computer Science and Engineering, DSCE organized a three days National level Workshop on “Deep Learning models for Cyber attack Detection”, sponsored by DRDO from 28th November 2022 to 30th November 2022. The event was inaugurated by Dr. Hrishikesh Dewan, Co – Founder and CEO at Ziroh Labs.

Kannada Rajyotsava

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, DSCE has organized Kannada Rajyotsava on 26th November 2022. All the faculties of the department were invited to celebrate kannada, Karnataka and our culture.

Industrial Visit

Department of Computer Science and Engineering 7th semester students along with Dr. Ramya R S, Associate Professor, CSE, DSCE and Prof. Sunanda Assistant Professor, visited the Nokia Bangalore University Collaboration (NBUC) lab, on Wednesday, September 14, 2022. As part of their IOT Credit Course elective in the 6th semester, students went to the Nokia labs. Live demonstrations of the transition from 1G to 5G and an in-depth explanation of the 5G Technology with Service-based Architecture were given in the class.

BoS Meeting

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering conducted BoS meeting on 12/09/2022, to discuss on the scheme and syllabus of UG and PG for the academic year 2022.

Cognition

Computer Science and engineering department conducted COGNITION 2022, a coding competition, from 18thAugust 2022 to 20th August 2022. The event was conducted for 1 year students. A total of 61 teams (team of 2) were presented. In1st round, Out of 61 teams 25 teams were selected. In 2nd round, Out of 25 teams 12 teams were selected. In 3rd Round, out of 12 teams’ winner and runner-up were selected. Valedictory was held on 26th August 2022 and prize distribution was done by Dr Amutha S, Professor, Dept. of CSE, DSCE.

Kick Start on AI and ML using Python

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering has organized One day workshop on Kick Start on AI and ML using Python for the students of 2022 on 06/08/2022. Students experienced the hands-on AI model creations and how to use that as a service, with standard practice in AI. Students thanked the Department of Computer Science and Engineering for conducting the event.

Project Open Day 2022

Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering conducted DSCE Project Open Day 2022 – A Student Project Exhibition on 24th June 2021, 10:00am onwards. The event at Department of CSE, was inaugurated by Guests at Honor, Shri Krishna C, Joint Director, CDAC, Ms. Surya Raju, Microsoft, Madhusudan N, Architect, NVIDIA, Bangalore and Sunil Kumar Pariwan, Infosys.
