Department of Mathematics organized a webinar on 1st July 2022, on the topic “Introduction to R software” by the resource person Dr. R Narmada Devi, Associate Professor, Department of Mathematics, Vel Tech Rangarajan Dr Sagunthala R&D Institute of Science and Engineering, Avadi, Chennai. The webinar was conducted for IV Semester Computer science students through Zoom meet platform along with students faculty also had participated.
The webinar session mainly focused on

- Creating Vectors and Matrices
- Importing The Data from Excel File
- Diagrammatical and Graphical Representation of Data
- Measures of Central Tendency & Measures of Dispersion
- Correlation and Regression Analysis of the Data

Department of Mathematics organized a webinar on 17th June 2022, related to the “Application of Reliability Engineering in Industry scenario” by the resource person Dr.Ben Ruben, Associate Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering at Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore.
“Application of Mathematics and Computer Science in Global Climate Modelling”
Department of Mathematics organized a webinar on “Application of Mathematics and Computer Science in Global Climate Modelling” on 9th of February 2022 by the resource person Dr. Devaraju Narayanappa, Postdoctoral research fellow, Department Geosciences,University of Oslo, Norway. Speaker gave applications of Mathematics in Global Climate Modelling which made very interesting. The participants gave a good feedback about the webinar.
"Disruptive Technologies for Society 5.0”
Department of Mathematics organized a webinar on “Disruptive Technologies for Society 5.0” on 29th Dec 2021 at 11.15am by the resource person Dr. Prasenjit Chatterjee, Dean, MCKV Institute of Engineering, West Bengal. The speaker started off the webinar on defining the terms apt for the webinar like Industry 4.0 and Society 5.0, which is widely used in today’s world of AI and ML. The insights provided were of great use and the students were able to bridge the gap of knowing the day to day use of AI and ML. The speaker also explained the concepts of Society 1.0 where the early civilization started off and how it has evolved in today’s time taking up the newer version of 4.0 to 5.0. He also stated how developing countries like Japan and Germany are using these new technologies.
"Eclipses – Inscriptional & Literary Evidences in Indian Astronomy”
The Department of Mathematics conducted a webinar “Eclipses – Inscriptional & Literary Evidences in Indian Astronomy” by Dr. PadmajaVenugopal, Professor & Head, Department of Mathematics, S.J.B.I.T, Bangalore on 29th November 2021 between 10 am to 11 am. The talk was arranged to students to give a deep insight about application of Mathematics in Indian Astronomy. Application of Mathematics in Indian Astronomy was discussed in the session. The Webinar was conducted in Google meet platform.

Department of Mathematics organized a webinar on “Developing Psychological Well-being in daily Life” on 29th of October 2021 by the resource person Dr. Deepti Swamy, Founder – Director I-dentitee LLP , Bangalore. The webinar was conducted through Google Meet platform. Dr. Deepti Swamy gave insights on balancing life with proper skills, time etc., and also on how to manage the daily routines with time management so that there is mental balance which is necessary to be maintained for leading a better life. The participants gave a good feedback about the webinar.

Department of Mathematics conducted a webinar “Python and Mathematical Essentials ” on 20th September 2021 by speaker Dr. Smita S Nagouda, Associate Professor, Centre for Mathematical Needs, Christ deemed to be university, Bengaluru. The Webinar was conducted in Google meet platform.The talk was arranged to give our students a deep insight of how important it is to learn the basics of Mathematics in order to be a good programmer in Python language.

The webinar was conducted through Google Meet platform and around 100 Students & Faculty had participated. DrVijay Singh gave applications ofMathematics in the Universe which made very interesting.

Department of Mathematics organized a webinar on “Linear Algebra, Statistics & Probability distributions” on 22nd July 2021 by the resource person Dr.Prakasha R, Associate Professor, Department of Mathematics, R V College Of Engineering, Bangalore. The webinar was conducted through Google Meet platform and around 100 Students & Faculty had participated. Dr.Prakasha also discussed the different parameters used in mathematics and their usefulness in data sciences viz. eigenvector in Support vector mechanics(SVM), Bayes’ theorem, linear regression, orthogonality etc..

Dr. N Aatira Gopalkrishnan discussed about the Time series and its real world applications such as weather forecasting , health care, finance ,economices etc.
