My experience studying Chemical Engineering at Dayanand Sagar College of Engineering was truly exceptional! The knowledge imparted by our professors was invaluable, leading to immediate success in my career upon graduation.
One of the greatest strengths of the Chemical Engineering Department was its faculty. Our professors seamlessly blended lectures with real-world applications, making every topic engaging and relevant. They displayed remarkable empathy, taking a genuine interest in each student's growth while ensuring that learning was both enjoyable and insightful.
Even after 27 years, I remain in close touch with my professors, a testament to the lasting bonds forged during my time there. Working on my final-year project with Dr. Ramani madam, sponsored by DRDO, was a defining experience—not only enriching my understanding of the subject but also instilling perseverance, tenacity, and hard work. Dr. Veena madam welcomed student inquiries at any time, creating an open and encouraging learning environment.
I fondly remember Professors Sikdhar Sir, the late Dr. Anathram, and the late Dr. Suresh Midargi—all of whom had a profound impact on my academic and professional journey. Their dedication and mentorship shaped the path I walk today, and for that, I am forever grateful.

As an alumnus of theChemical Engineering at Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering, I reflect on my time at the college as one of the most formative chapters of my life. Thevibrant campus, supportive faculty, and the unique encouragement I received—particularly towards my entrepreneurial ambitions—played a pivotal role in shaping who I am today.
Long before start-ups became a buzzword, my college saw potential in my vision. Thefreedom and encouragement to pursue my first venture as a studentlaid the foundation for my journey as aserial entrepreneur. Today, I have founded and scaledfive successful ventures, includingLXL Ideas, home toSchool Cinema, andIEC, which proudly represents theSchool Curriculum and Standards Authority (SCSA), Government of Western Australia, bringing theWACE programto schools across India.
Beyond academics,Dayananda Sagar's extraordinary commitment to extracurricular activitiesstands out as a defining feature of my student life. As theCultural Secretary, I had the honour of representing the college in intercollegiate events across Bangalore and the country—experiences that became the stepping stones to a fulfilling career in public speaking, media, and storytelling.
I remain grateful to our then Principal,Prof. Vardhan, who recognised and nurtured co-curricular talent with extraordinary vision—often granting me attendance for the awards I won in debates and public speaking competitions. That belief in holistic education gave me the confidence to later pursue filmmaking, where I have now been honoured withseven National Film Awardsfor content that touches the lives of children and educators.
My heartfelt thanks toProf. Anantram, my lifelong mentor, whose guidance continues to influence me, and toProf. Suresh MaidargiandDr. Veena, whose support within the department gave me the strength to pursue unconventional paths.

Dayananda Sagar was not just my college; it was my launchpad into a purpose-driven life. The friendships I made and the lessons I learnt continue to anchor me in everything I do.

With Sincere Gratitude,
Syed Sultan Ahmed
