IEEE Student Branch
IEEE DSCE student branch was started on 21st Sept 2007 by Dr. P.T. Kulkarni, Dr. M.J. Shanti Prasad and Dr. Kiran Gupta with aim of bringing awareness and to bring DSI under the umbrella of the IEEE.
This has enhanced technical standards and global networking for engineering students. With the inspiration from international events, to encourage girl students Women-In-Engineering was started and inaugurated on 22nd May 2010 in the DSI campus. IEEE DSCE student branch has two society chapters in the campus - Power Electronics Society (PES) and Robotics & Artificial Intelligence Society (RAI).
These two societies enhance the technical activities in other branches of engineering in the campus. The branch received best student branch award on Feb 2010 for the year 2009 amongst 45 Engineering colleges in Karnataka. Conducted major international events such as Asia Pacific GOLD Congress and coordinated the National Conference NEC-2009. The IEEE student branch completed 10 years in the year 2020. A large number of activities such as seminars, workshops, guest lectures, FDPs, student symposiums, technical talks, conferences, research programmes, quiz programmes, poster presentation, paper presentations, etc… was conducted during the 10 year tenure of the IEEE student branch as a part of its activities in the ECE department.
