HOD
From the HOD's Desk:
Greetings..!!
Department of Medical Electronics Engineering has been playing a vital role in producing technologists of leading talents ever since it was established in the year 1996. The Department has applied engineering principles to address medical and biological problems. Over the years the Department has become one of the best Departments in the university.
Department is located next to Sagar Hospital. It offers a centralized venue for engineers and clinicians to work together, to coordinate expertise, discoveries and best practices to enhance the diagnosis and treatment of a range of conditions. The DSI provides purpose built research laboratories, shared common support facilities, a core of securely funded staff, the latest equipments for research and development. The state of the art campus promote collaboration among medical, biological, physical scientists and engineers
The Department at DSCE is an ideal academic platform to meet challenges in healthcare-technologies. Our undergraduate students design, build and reverse- engineer solutions to deliver cost-effective, accessible solutions as part of government- funded projects, course-work related projects and final year projects. The Department is a keen player in research areas of medical imaging, biomedical signal processing, embedded systems and clinical instrumentation. The graduate students are actively involved with faculty in one of these areas with an aim to deliver quality publications in refereed journals
Department has provided interdisciplinary base to develop health care technologies. The department runs an Under Graduate Programme and a Research Centre affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) to cater to the ever challenging needs of technical excellence in medical electronics discipline such as MRI, signal & image processing, innovations in instrumentation, biosensors and medical physics. In addition to the strong undergraduate program, the Department has been playing a pioneering role in producing world class research scholars
The infrastructure and laboratory facilities are upgraded from time to time and provide adequate opportunities for students and researchers to learn and innovate. The Department has distinguished and well qualified faculty members. The faculty members of the department of Medical Electronics Engineering have been constantly carrying out research on many cutting edge technologies and regularly publish in peer reviewed national and international journals. The Department also undertakes many research projects sponsored by both the government and the industry. The Department make scholarly scientific and technological advances that will address the changing needs of society
In a nut shell, the department of Medical Electronics Engineering aims to identify motivated individuals and train them to become successful Medical Electronics engineers with creativity and flexibility who can deliver impactful healthcare locally and internationally, through future paths of research, industry and management.
